According to a former CEDS employee, the breeding facility was initially designed to accommodate 500 breeders, but this figure would be largely exceeded to date.
In 1982, the facility already held 200 females and approximately 1000 dogs and puppies at all times.
Each female would give birth to approximately 8 puppies per year which would result in an annual total of 4000 puppies from the age of 4 months, sold to laboratories for among other things, toxicology experiments.
The turnover of the CEDS recorded on December 31, 2011 amounted to € 1 315 400.
The centre currently employs about a dozen people.
